Throughout their visit, the team explored diverse energy initiatives, holding discussions with key players such as the Danish Meteorological Institute, Orsted Balancing Responsible, Middelgrunden Offshore Windfarm, Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2), UNEP-CCC, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), and Copenhill to delve into the role of thermal assets within a renewable-powered energy framework.
On Wednesday, in collaboration with the Indo-Danish Chamber of Commerce, Dansk Industri, GH2, BrintBranchen, and State of Green, the Embassy of India in Denmark hosted an Indo-Danish Roundtable focusing on Green Hydrogen and maritime partnerships.
The Indian Ambassador to Denmark, Manish Prabhat, addressed the roundtable, emphasizing the need for long-term collaborations between the green energy sectors of both nations, particularly in the realm of Green Hydrogen.
Earlier, Agarwal and Lars Frelle-Petersen, Denmark's Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, convened a Steering Committee meeting to assess ongoing energy cooperation and discuss future enhancements.
Last week, the 7th Joint Working Group Meeting on Power was held, where the Indian delegation, led by Srikant Nagallapulli, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Power, engaged in comprehensive talks with the Danish side, led by Ulrik Eversbusch, Director of the Danish Energy Agency.

In May, India and Denmark renewed their long-standing energy cooperation by signing a revised Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This follows five fruitful years of collaboration under the initial MoU, signed on June 5, 2020, which was to conclude on June 5, 2025. The proactive renewal ensures ongoing dialogue and cooperation, facilitating a seamless extension of joint efforts in energy development," stated the Ministry of Power on May 2.
"This renewed agreement expands the partnership to include advanced sectors such as power system modeling, integration of variable renewable energy, cross-border electricity trading, and the development of EV charging infrastructure.
