Tokyo, Oct 24 (NationPress) The Charge d'Affaires of India in Japan, R Madhu Sudan, emphasized Northeast India as a gateway of opportunity with vast potential to become a pivotal center for connectivity, innovation, and commercial activities.

Speaking at the event 'Exploring the Potential of Northeast India: Harmonizing Cultural Diversity and Socioeconomic Development' organized by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, the diplomat articulated that the Northeast can exemplify a sustainable and inclusive model for development partnerships between the two nations.

The Indian Embassy in Japan shared a statement on X, mentioning, "Mr. R. Madhu Sudan, Charge d’Affaires at the Indian Embassy in Japan, delivered a Keynote Address at the event, 'Exploring the Potential of Northeast India: Harmonizing Cultural Diversity and Socioeconomic Development', organized by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. He underscored the Northeast as a frontier of opportunity with significant potential for connectivity, creativity, and commerce, envisioning it as a model for a sustainable and inclusive development partnership between the two countries."

Earlier, the Indian Embassy in Japan showcased moments from the Diwali celebrations at Nagasaki University. During this event, R Madhu Sudan conveyed a video message highlighting the strengthening friendship and cultural exchanges between the two nations. The Indian Embassy referred to the celebration as "a beautiful reflection" of the friendship and cultural unity shared by both countries.

In their post on X, the Indian Embassy in Japan noted, "Diwali Celebrations at Nagasaki University! The spirit of Diwali lit up Nagasaki University as students and faculty united to celebrate the Festival of Lights as part of the 'Diwali Celebrations in Japanese Universities'. A video message from Shri R. Madhu Sudan, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of India, Tokyo, emphasizing the growing friendship and cultural exchanges between India and Japan, was shown during the event."

"The evening was filled with diyas and sweets, featuring a cultural program showcasing Indian dances and attire, all conveying the shared message of light conquering darkness and knowledge overcoming ignorance. A splendid reflection of India–Japan friendship and cultural harmony! Indian students and faculty across universities in Japan are celebrating Diwali, symbolizing the lasting bond of friendship between our two nations," it further elaborated.

Likewise, students and faculty at Kagawa University celebrated Diwali as well. Sharing images from the celebration on X, the Indian Embassy in Japan mentioned, "Diwali Celebrations at Kagawa University! Students and faculty united to celebrate Diwali as part of the 'Diwali Celebrations in Japan'! A video message from Shri R. Madhu Sudan, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of India, Tokyo, was also projected, highlighting the cultural ties between India and Japan. The vibrant diversity and cultural essence of Diwali were beautifully displayed through colorful Rangoli and traditional Indian sweets. Students and faculty across universities in Japan are commemorating the Festival of Lights, representing the enduring friendship between our two nations."

Additionally, India's Charge d'Affaires in Japan conducted a video conference with Isabela Silk, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Marshall Islands, to explore collaboration opportunities across various sectors, including potential projects.
