Muscat, Dec 18 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Thursday that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and Oman serves as a "blueprint for our shared future" and is poised to influence the diplomatic ties between the two nations for many years to come.
While addressing the India-Oman Business Summit, PM Modi remarked: "Today, we are making a historic decision that will resonate for years to come. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will instill new confidence and energy as we navigate the 21st century. This is a blueprint of our shared future, aimed at enhancing trade, fostering investment confidence, and unlocking opportunities across various sectors."
He encouraged the business leaders from both countries to capitalize on the momentum generated by the summit to strengthen trade and investment collaborations.
"Our people have a profound understanding of one another. We share generations of trust in our business interactions and have a solid grasp of each other's markets," he noted.
"This summit will propel the India-Oman partnership towards a new direction, accelerate its growth, and elevate it to new heights. Each of you has a vital role to play in this journey," he added.
PM Modi reminded the business leaders that they are the torchbearers of the enduring trade legacy between India and Oman, which boasts a rich history spanning centuries.
"Since ancient times, our ancestors have engaged in maritime trade with one another," he stated.
“The Arabian Sea, stretching from Mandvi to Muscat, has evolved into a robust bridge. Today, we can confidently assert that while the sea's waves change and seasons shift, the friendship between India and Oman strengthens with every tide, reaching new heights with each wave," he emphasized.
PM Modi underscored that the India-Oman relationship is grounded in trust and longevity. "Our bond is built on the foundation of trust, bolstered by friendship, and deepened over time. Today, we celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations," he remarked.
Additionally, the Prime Minister highlighted that India's ascent will benefit its partners. "India's nature has always been forward-thinking and self-propelling. Whenever India flourishes, it aids its friends in flourishing as well," he stated.
"Currently, India is on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy, a development that benefits the entire globe. However, it is particularly advantageous for Oman, as we are not just close friends but also maritime neighbors," he added.
