Warsaw, March 26 (NationPress) On Thursday, India and Poland engaged in talks aimed at enhancing their political exchanges and economic connections, focusing on sectors such as electric vehicles, mining, and shipping. They also discussed ways to promote educational, cultural, and interpersonal exchanges.

The discussions took place between Pooja Kapur, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and WT Bartoszewski, the Polish Secretary of State, in Warsaw.

In a statement, the Indian Embassy in Poland noted, "Ms. Pooja Kapur, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, met with Polish Secretary of State H.E. Mr. W.T. Bartoszewski in Warsaw. The dialogue highlighted the enduring friendly relations between India and Poland, strengthened by high-level political engagement. They explored further advancements in political exchanges and economic collaborations, particularly in sectors like electric vehicles, mining, and shipping. Additionally, they discussed leveraging the India-EU FTA, enhancing defense and technology cooperation, as well as fostering educational, cultural, and interpersonal ties."

On the preceding day, Pooja Kapur also met with Kinga Gajewska, a Polish MP and the Chair of the Poland-India Parliamentary Group.

In another post, the Indian Embassy shared, "Ms. Pooja Kapur, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, had discussions with Ms. Kinga Gajewska, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Poland-India Parliamentary Group. Furthermore, she engaged with the President of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Vice President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Poland, the former Ambassador of Poland to India Mr. Adam Burkowski, and the CEO of Wipro Poland to explore deeper India-Poland collaborations."

Pooja Kapur also paid homage at the Memorial of the Dobry Maharaja, Jamsaheb Digvijaysinhji in Ochota, and at the Kolhapur Memorial in Ogrod Krasinskich, Warsaw. Additionally, she visited the Bednarska School, where she interacted with the Director and high school students.

The embassy's post highlighted, "During her official visit to Poland, Additional Secretary Pooja Kapur paid floral tributes at the Memorial of the Dobry Maharaja and visited the Kolhapur Memorial in Ogrod Krasinskich in Warsaw. She also visited the Bednarska School, meeting with the Director and engaging with high school students. The Director expressed gratitude to India for its ongoing support to the school and reflected on the success of the inaugural Jamsaheb Memorial Youth Exchange Programme. At the Jamsaheb memorial, the Principal of Janusz Korczak School along with teachers and students met Ms. Kapur, expressing appreciation for the grant provided by India and fondly remembering the Dobry Maharaja," the embassy stated.

Last month, Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), met with Polish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw T Bartoszewski in New Delhi to review the bilateral strategic partnership and discuss key outcomes of the 2024-2028 Action Plan between the two nations.

The MEA indicated, "Secretary (West) Sibi George had a fruitful meeting with Polish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw T Bartoszewski in New Delhi, where they reviewed the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and discussed the key deliverables of the Action Plan (2024-2028)."

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Poland in 2024, India and Poland elevated their bilateral relations to the level of a 'Strategic Partnership', agreeing on a Joint Action Plan for 2024-2028.
