During his current visit, Misri met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio today, as confirmed by the Indian Embassy, stating, “We anticipate enhancing our collaboration in these crucial sectors and much more to fortify the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor characterized the interaction as a “fruitful meeting,” concentrating on “our bilateral relationship, specifically trade, critical minerals, defense, and the Quad.
“Secretary Rubio is eager to visit India next month!” Gor noted, hinting at an impending high-level visit.
In a pivotal security-centered engagement, Misri also met with FBI Director Kash Patel.
“Both engaged in a productive exchange regarding the strong India-US collaboration in combating terrorism, organized crime, and narcotics,” the embassy indicated.
This meeting highlights the increasing partnership between the two nations concerning law enforcement and internal security, alongside traditional defense alliances.
Additionally, Misri had discussions with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
“They discussed bilateral priorities and exchanged assessments on regional and global developments of shared interest,” the embassy conveyed.

Misri also met with Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker, where both parties assessed the India-US bilateral agenda since the Foreign Office Consultations held last December.

Economic and technological cooperation remained a parallel focus. In discussions with Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg, both agreed to enhance collaboration.
“They committed to advancing cooperation under Pax Silica and broader economic and technology partnerships, including in AI and critical minerals,” the embassy added.
In addition to formal meetings, Misri connected with Washington’s strategic community, engaging with think tanks to discuss the “current status and future direction of India–US bilateral relations.”
These discussions delved into “the opportunities to capitalize on and the challenges to confront in a rapidly changing world order,” along with the global implications for energy, food, and economic security.
