Upon returning from his February trip, Jaishankar noted that there is a "strong momentum" in the growing engagement between New Delhi and Washington.
During his visit from February 2-4, the EAM also took part in the Critical Minerals Ministerial, convened by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"I concluded a productive and positive visit to the US. I thank Secretary Rubio for his generous hospitality," he shared on X.
Additionally, the EAM mentioned that the historic India-US trade agreement is nearing finalization, which will usher in a new phase in bilateral relations, offering extensive opportunities. The cooperation on critical minerals is also progressing swiftly, with expectations of discussions on strategic issues, defense, and energy in the near future. Overall, a robust momentum is clear," Jaishankar elaborated.
During this pivotal visit, the External Affairs Minister also met with high-ranking members of the US administration.
These meetings included discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, where they explored the India-US strategic and economic partnership.
Jaishankar remarked that discussions with Rubio encompassed multiple facets of the India-US Strategic Partnership, including trade, energy, nuclear, defense, critical minerals, and technology.
Both sides expressed their commitment to expedite follow-up engagements, agreeing on early meetings of various mechanisms to foster mutual interests.
