Following the successful August Revolution of 1945 against colonial powers and the Vietnamese monarchy, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was founded, ushering in a new era of independence, freedom, and socialism. To protect the achievements of the revolution and establish a nation founded on democratic values, the Vietnam People's Public Security Force was officially formed on August 19, 1945.
As per statements from Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, on behalf of all leaders and employees within the ministry, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung welcomed Ravichandran to Vietnam, stressing that this visit offers a chance to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and India, a trusted ally known for its loyalty and cooperative spirit.
Reflecting on notable outcomes from the 3rd Deputy Ministers-Indian Security Dialogue Conference held in India in December 2024, Deputy Minister Tung noted that the Ministry of Public Security has recruited and sent officials and students to pursue doctoral scholarships and bachelor's degrees in information technology and computer science in India.
In the near future, to further enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Indian counterparts, including the National Security Council, the Deputy Minister urged the Indian delegation to visit Vietnam to engage in more detailed discussions regarding cyber security and the use of information technology in security matters; as well as to expedite the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on security cooperation.
