Throughout their stay, the delegation engaged in multiple meetings and fruitful discussions with Egyptian Defence Authorities, such as the Air Defence Chief for Armament, the Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, and the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Air Force.
Accompanying them were C. Sushma, the Charge d'Affaires at the Indian Embassy in Cairo, and Defence Attache Group Captain Perminder Antil, alongside Eng Emeil Helmy Elyes, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the National Authority for Military Production in Egypt. Their discussions aimed at fostering closer defence relations between the two nations.
The Egyptian representatives expressed their appreciation for the insights shared regarding the significant advancements in India's Defence Manufacturing Industry, particularly regarding the reliability, affordability, and high quality of India's defence products. Historically, Egypt and India have enjoyed amicable defence relations. Following a brief interruption due to the Covid pandemic, several defence delegations, including aircraft and naval vessel transits, have visited Egypt since June 2021.
In September 2022, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Egypt, meeting with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and engaging in bilateral discussions with former Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki. This visit culminated in a landmark agreement on defence cooperation.
The inaugural IAF-EAF Joint Tactical Air Exercise, named 'Desert Warrior', was conducted in Cairo in October 2021.
