Singapore, May 27 (NationPress) The all-party parliamentary delegation, spearheaded by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha, asserted on Tuesday that India will respond decisively to any terrorist threat on its territory and will not succumb to any form of nuclear intimidation.
During a meeting with Sim Ann, Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs, the parliamentarians underscored the significance of Operation Sindoor and the ongoing struggle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
Condemning terrorism in all its forms, Sim Ann expressed Singapore's solidarity with India in its combat against terrorism. She emphasized the strong partnership between Singapore and India, pledging continued efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, as reported by the Indian High Commission in Singapore.
During the discussions, Jha elaborated on India's position regarding the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, the launch of Operation Sindoor, and the new strategic approach towards combating terrorism.
He pointed out that the Indian delegation represents a coalition of various political parties to demonstrate the nation's unified commitment against terrorism.
"The delegation members conveyed that the terrorist attack in Pahalgam aimed to disrupt the ongoing peace, development, and normalcy in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Government of India considers it essential that the culprits behind the April 22 attack be brought to justice. In retaliation, India initiated Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure responsibly and proportionately," stated the Indian High Commission in Singapore.
"The delegation sought Singapore's support in the fight against terrorism, especially at multilateral forums such as the United Nations and the Financial Action Task Force. As close allies, India and Singapore will maintain their collaborative efforts on regional and global issues, particularly concerning terrorism," the statement noted.
Later, the Jha-led delegation engaged with senior figures from the Singaporean government, academia, media, and business sectors, providing updates on developments since the Pahalgam attack.
The delegates acknowledged the presence and support of Singapore's Senior Minister of State Janil Puthucheary and Members of Parliament Vikram Nair and Saktiandi Supaat in India's fight against terrorism.
"Our all-party parliamentary delegation engaged in extensive discussions with senior representatives from Singapore's government, academia, media, and business sectors. We provided updates on developments following the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and India's determined new approach to counter-terrorism. We express our gratitude to Senior Minister Janil Puthucheary and MPs Vikram Nair and Saktiandi Supaat for their presence and their support in enhancing bilateral cooperation in the global fight against terrorism," Jha posted on X.
