Investigation Underway into New Orleans Attacker's ISIS Influence and Possible Las Vegas Links

Washington, Jan 2 (NationPress) The perpetrator of the New Orleans incident had shared videos that suggested he was motivated by ISIS before he drove into New Year's Eve festivities in a well-frequented location. Investigations are ongoing regarding possible connections between this assault and the explosion of a Tesla cyber-truck outside a Trump organization property in Las Vegas, which left many people hurt.
“Just hours before the incident, he uploaded videos on social media revealing his ISIS inspiration and expressing a wish to commit violence,” President Biden stated in an address to the nation from the presidential retreat at Camp David in Maryland, where he is spending the remainder of the week. “The situation remains very dynamic, and the investigation is still in its early stages.”
“Moreover, we are monitoring the explosion of a cyber-truck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas,” the president added. “Law enforcement and the intelligence community are investigating this matter as well, including any potential links with the New Orleans attack.”
The FBI, which is overseeing the investigation into the New Orleans incident, has identified the attacker as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen from Texas.
An ISIS flag was discovered in the vehicle, the FBI reported, noting that they are working to establish the subject’s possible ties and connections to terrorist organizations.
As investigators dealt with the tragic New Year’s Eve attack in New Orleans, where the death toll increased from an earlier count of 10 to 15, they were further challenged by the Las Vegas explosion.
Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and a strong supporter of Trump, suggested in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that there might be a connection. “It seems likely to be an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 used in the suicide attack in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are related in some manner.” He was referencing Turo, a platform that allows vehicle owners to rent out their cars similarly to how Airbnb operates for homeowners.
“I instructed my team to ensure that every resource is available to federal, state, and local law enforcement to expedite the investigation in New Orleans and to ensure there is no further threat to the American public,” Biden stated in his address.
