Israel Launches Attacks on Lebanon, Citing Violations by Hezbollah

Jerusalem, Dec 2 (NationPress) The Israeli military has verified that it executed a series of strikes in Lebanon in the previous 48 hours, characterizing these operations as measures to thwart violations of the ceasefire accord with Hezbollah.
In an official statement, the military indicated that it had focused on a church reportedly used by Hezbollah fighters. The militants, recognized by Israeli forces as part of Hezbollah's Khiam ground defense, anti-tank missile, and artillery units, allegedly opened fire on Israeli soldiers from the church, as reported by Xinhua news agency referencing Israeli news source Ynet.
"In the last day, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) took action in multiple regions of Lebanon to eliminate threats to the State of Israel that were breaching the ceasefire agreement," the statement emphasized. "The IDF continues its presence in Lebanon and responds to any threats against the State of Israel."
Earlier on Sunday, French diplomats issued warnings that Israel had breached the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon in no less than 52 distinct incidents. France cautioned that these violations could jeopardize the delicate accord.
The ceasefire, which was established last week, aimed to put an end to the deadly cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah that began last October.
