Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

Jerusalem, Dec 7 (NationPress) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its Air Force conducted an airstrike against a Hezbollah militant in southern Lebanon on Saturday.
As per the IDF, the militant represented a threat to the forces stationed in southern Lebanon, breaching the agreements and understandings established between Israel and Lebanon, as per reports from Xinhua news agency.
The IDF stated that this action was part of its operations on Saturday against "multiple terrorist activities in southern Lebanon that posed a threat to Israel."
The statement emphasized that the IDF adheres to the ceasefire conditions, continues its presence in southern Lebanon, and will respond to any threats against Israel and its citizens.
The ceasefire, mediated by the United States and France, took effect on November 27, aiming to end nearly 14 months of conflict between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
Even with the truce in place, tensions remain elevated as both parties exchange accusations of violating the ceasefire.
