Jerusalem, Sep 26 (NationPress) The Office of the Israeli Prime Minister has initiated a public diplomacy initiative in New York to draw attention to the horrific actions of Hamas. This effort coincides with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's upcoming address at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday evening, according to Indian time.
Large billboards and trucks have been strategically placed around the UN building and Times Square displaying the message "Remember October 7". These include a QR code that, when scanned, directs individuals to a website detailing the atrocities of the devastating October 7 terror attack.
In a statement released on X, the Prime Minister’s Office mentioned, "As part of the lead-up to Prime Minister Netanyahu's address to the UNGA, we have launched a public diplomacy campaign featuring numerous large billboards and trucks surrounding the UN building and in Times Square."
"The billboards and trucks proclaim 'REMEMBER OCTOBER 7', and feature a QR code that leads to a site showcasing the horrific acts from October 7, accessible only from abroad," they noted.
This campaign aims to remind world leaders and the public about the heinous acts executed by Hamas, and it has notably intensified during Netanyahu's visit to the US.
As part of their social media outreach, the Prime Minister’s Office shared videos of the trucks on X, stating, "The objective of the campaign is to remind global leaders and the public about the atrocities committed by Hamas and the shocking brutality of the terrorist organization, which is currently holding 48 hostages captive in Gaza."
Netanyahu is scheduled to speak at the UNGA on Friday. Accompanied by his wife, he arrived in the US on Thursday and engaged in bilateral discussions with various world leaders, including Argentina's President Javier Milei, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic, and Paraguay's President Santiago Pena.
During his address at last year’s 79th session of the UNGA, Netanyahu asserted that the conflict with Hamas could only conclude if they laid down their arms and released the hostages, emphasizing Israel's commitment to achieving "total victory". He warned Iran that there is "no location" in the country where the "long arms" of Israel are unable to reach.
In his remarks, he stated, "This war can cease immediately if Hamas surrenders, disarms, and frees all hostages. If not, we will continue our fight until we secure victory—total victory. There is no alternative. Israel must also defeat Hezbollah in Lebanon, which is the epitome of terrorism today."
