Man Arrested in Connection with Double Homicide in Western Sydney

Sydney, Dec 1 (NationPress) A man is set to appear in court on Sunday following his arrest for the alleged murders of two individuals in western Sydney, as reported by police.

The arrest took place at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday at a residence in Canley Heights, a suburb located about 30 km from the central business district of Sydney, according to the New South Wales Police, as cited by Xinhua news agency.

Earlier, at around 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to an assault report at a store on Oxford Street, Cambridge Park, which is situated approximately 53 km west of Sydney's central business district.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of a 69-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. The 31-year-old suspect was subsequently taken to Fairfield Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of murder and denied bail, scheduled to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.

According to police, all three individuals were known to one another.

The Sydney Morning Herald has identified the deceased as Hoa Tek Chiem, 69, and Heang Kim Gau, 68, a married couple who owned and operated the Buzzy Bee Burger House in Cambridge Park.

Reports indicate that Allan Chiem was apprehended at his home in Canley Heights shortly after midnight.
