Washington, Feb 13 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX, who also serves as a significant advisor to President Donald Trump, on Thursday.
Musk visited the Prime Minister at the Blair House, a US government venue situated less than 100 meters from the White House, where Modi was scheduled to engage in discussions with President Trump later that day.
No details of their dialogue have been released yet.
Accompanying Prime Minister Modi were External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Musk arrived with his family, including his five-year-old son X, who recently shared the spotlight with his father and President Trump during a joint news conference at the Oval Office earlier in the week.
This meeting marks one of several interactions between Modi and Musk, beginning with Modi's visit to Tesla's San Jose facility in 2015, where Musk personally guided him on a tour.
Although Musk has considered creating a more affordable version of Tesla for the Indian market, progress on this idea has been limited.
Musk holds significant influence within the Trump administration, with the President relying on him to enhance the efficiency of the federal government, making it leaner and more cost-effective. His initiatives have already led to the dissolution of the US Agency for International Development, merging its functions with the State Department, which previously had nominal oversight.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi met with National Security Advisor Mike Waltz at Blair House, and on Wednesday, he received Tulsi Gabbard, who visited him shortly after being appointed as the Director of National Intelligence, making her the head of the 18-member Intelligence Community in the United States.
