Jerusalem, Feb 26 (NationPress) During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India's strong commitment to dialogue and the pursuit of peaceful resolutions to regional conflicts, as highlighted by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at the end of a two-day State Visit.

In a special press briefing, Misri conveyed that PM Modi reaffirmed India's willingness to assist in achieving a peaceful resolution.

When asked whether the discussions included the ongoing tensions between Iran and the US, Misri replied, "I would like to note that the regional situation and various tensions were indeed discussed by the two Prime Ministers. The Prime Minister reiterated India's staunch belief in the importance of dialogue and the pursuit of peaceful resolutions for all such matters, also expressing India's readiness to provide support if needed to foster a peaceful solution."

This trip, according to Misri, reflects PM Modi's dedication to strengthening India's relationships with all nations in the West Asia region.

Furthermore, the Foreign Secretary remarked that Modi's visit to Israel signifies the high priority India places on its bilateral ties with Israel.

Misri noted that this visit marks a significant milestone in the history of India-Israel relations and showcases the advancements made over the last decade, paving the way for the next chapter in this crucial partnership.

This visit has profoundly deepened and enhanced the multifaceted collaboration between the two nations, providing renewed momentum to their joint efforts towards shared goals of peace, innovation, and prosperity.

Notably, the highlight of the Prime Minister’s agenda was his address to the Knesset, where he was invited by Speaker Amir Ohana to speak at a special plenary session. The session also featured remarks from Prime Minister Netanyahu and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid. Modi was awarded the Medal of the Knesset for his outstanding contribution in fortifying the strategic ties between India and Israel, becoming the first ever recipient of this accolade, as noted by Misri.

Earlier, PM Modi and Netanyahu convened in Jerusalem to discuss bilateral matters, including technology, innovation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), critical minerals, defense, security, trade, education, blue economy, agriculture, and health.

The two leaders also declared an elevation of their relationship to the status of an India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation, and Prosperity.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and other officials were present during the discussions.
