Moscow, Dec 25 (NationPress) Moscow is currently evaluating a peace proposal regarding Ukraine, presented by a Russian special envoy after his recent discussions with officials from the United States, as indicated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday.
Peskov mentioned that Moscow is scrutinizing the details provided by Kirill Dmitriev, who serves as Russia's special presidential representative for investment and economic cooperation, following his meetings with U.S. officials in Miami over the past weekend.
"We are analyzing these materials, and subsequently, in accordance with the decision made by the Head of State, we will continue consultations with the U.S. side," Peskov stated, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Earlier, Peskov had disclosed that Dmitriev had updated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the results of his trip to Miami.
On Sunday, delegations from Russia and Ukraine engaged in separate discussions with U.S. representatives in Florida. According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Dmitriev informed the press that "the warmongers" did not succeed in obstructing the Russia-U.S. dialogue.
In the meantime, the Russian Defence Ministry reported on Thursday that units of its Southern Group of Forces had successfully taken control of the settlement of Sviato-Pokrovske in the Donetsk region.
"As a result of decisive actions, units of the Southern Group of Forces liberated the settlement of Sviato-Pokrovske in the Donetsk region," the ministry stated.
Furthermore, Russian air defense systems managed to intercept six aerial bombs, one U.S.-made HIMARS rocket, and 472 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles within the special military operation zone over the past 24 hours, the ministry added.
Additionally, two oil storage tanks were set ablaze at the southern Russian port of Temryuk due to a drone attack, though authorities in the Krasnodar region reported no casualties based on preliminary information.
The total area affected by the fire is approximately 2,000 square meters, with 70 personnel and 18 pieces of equipment engaged in firefighting efforts.
A separate drone strike overnight targeted the village of Nikolaevka in the Krasnodar region, causing damage to multiple industrial structures and agricultural equipment.
On Monday, Ukrainian drones attacked the port of Taman in the Volna settlement, inflicting damage to two piers and two tankers. Additionally, two storage tanks were harmed by the debris from intercepted drones.
Temryuk and Taman are significant seaports along the Black Sea, crucial for Russia's oil and petroleum product exports.
