In his message, Netanyahu emphasized that both nations have accomplished significant milestones together and expressed optimism that the most remarkable chapters of their partnership are yet to unfold.
"Congratulations to my esteemed friend PM Narendra Modi and the people of India on your Independence Day. Israel and India are two proud democracies, united by history, innovation, and friendship. Our nations have accomplished much together, and the best chapters of our partnership still lie ahead," stated Netanyahu in a message shared on X by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office.
Furthermore, Israel's President Isaac Herzog also sent his regards to President Droupadi Murmu and the Indian populace on this significant day, highlighting that India’s friendship is a source of strength for Israel during challenging times.
"On India's Independence Day, I extend heartfelt greetings to President Droupadi Murmu and all the people of India. May you experience a year filled with peace and prosperity. Your friendship with Israel during these tough times strengthens us immensely. May the bond between our nations thrive — and may we soon witness the safe return of all our hostages," Herzog remarked on X.
The Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Amir Ohana, also shared his warm wishes with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and the Indian citizens on Independence Day, posting an old photograph of himself with Birla and other leaders.
In his message on X, Ohana expressed, "Heartfelt congratulations to all Indians on Independence Day! On behalf of the Knesset, I extend my warmest wishes to my dear friend Om Birla and all citizens of India. May the friendship between our countries and parliaments remain robust."
Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, participated in the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in New Delhi and described Prime Minister Modi's speech as "inspiring". He shared a picture capturing the moment at this iconic venue.
