Jerusalem, April 10 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday the expulsion of Spain's representatives from a coordination center located in Kiryat Gat, emphasizing that nations that seek to "initiate a political conflict" against Israel will face immediate consequences.

In a message shared on X, Netanyahu declared that Israel will not tolerate attacks against its sovereignty. He accused Spain of "defaming" the soldiers of Israel and positioning itself against Jerusalem.

"The State of Israel will not remain silent in the face of those who launch attacks against us. Spain has disparaged our heroes, the members of the IDF, who serve in the most ethical military globally. Thus, I have ordered the removal of Spain's representatives from the coordination center in Kiryat Gat, as Spain has repeatedly chosen to oppose Israel," Netanyahu stated on X.

"Any entity that confronts the State of Israel rather than the terrorist regimes will not be regarded as a partner in shaping the future of the region. I will not tolerate this hypocrisy and hostility. I will not allow any country to engage in a political conflict against us without facing immediate repercussions," he added.

The Civil-Military Coordination Centre (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat manages the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and Spain had a permanent presence at its headquarters, according to reports from 'The Times of Israel', citing an Israeli official.

Relations between Spain and Israel have deteriorated over the past two years, with the Spanish government expressing dissatisfaction over Israel's military operations in Gaza. In March, Spain also recalled its Ambassador to Israel.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has been one of the most outspoken European leaders criticizing both the US and Israel's actions, consistently advocating the message "No to the war."

Earlier in March, the Spanish government closed its airspace to all flights associated with the US and Israeli military operations in Iran, including US aircraft stationed in third countries like the UK and France, as reported by the Xinhua News Agency.

In an interview with radio station Cadena Ser, Spain's Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo confirmed this decision, stating it was part of the Spanish government's commitment not to engage in or support a war initiated unilaterally and violating international law.

Previously, Spain had also prohibited the use of US military bases on its territory, including Rota and Moron de la Frontera, in relation to the ongoing conflict.
