Sanaa, April 6 (NationPress) At least one individual lost their life and four others sustained injuries when airstrikes conducted by US forces targeted a solar energy facility and a residence in Yemen's northern city of Saada, as reported by medical personnel.

According to medics, the casualty figures are preliminary, and civil defense teams are engaged in extinguishing fires and searching for victims at the sites affected in the Hafsin area of western Saada city, which serves as the capital of the Saada province, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Earlier on Saturday, the Houthi group refuted US assertions that an American airstrike had targeted a gathering of its military leaders in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.

A statement from the Houthis, broadcast on the group's al-Masirah TV, characterized the occurrence cited in the US claims as a social event for the Eid holiday, emphasizing that such gatherings are common in Yemen during festive occasions.

On March 15, the US military initiated a new series of airstrikes throughout Yemen, targeting the operational capabilities of the Houthis. In the last two weeks, US forces have executed multiple strikes aimed at Houthi air defense systems, command centers, fortified positions, and weapon depots across various provinces.

The Houthis previously announced their intention to resume assaults on commercial and naval vessels associated with Israel in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, citing Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The group claims that its maritime operations are designed to demonstrate solidarity with Palestinians and to exert pressure on Israel regarding its military activities in Gaza.
