Sanaa, April 20 (NationPress) At least three individuals have lost their lives and an additional four have sustained injuries due to the latest US airstrikes targeting Yemen's capital, Sanaa, its surrounding areas, and other regions.
The US military executed 21 airstrikes on Sanaa and its western outskirts, resulting in the death of two people and injuring two others in the Al-Nahda neighborhood in northern Sanaa. A third individual was reported wounded in a cemetery located in the Safiah neighborhood in southern Sanaa, as per Xinhua news agency citing Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV.
In the Bani Matar district on the western outskirts of Sanaa, the airstrikes claimed the life of one person while injuring another, according to the Houthi television network.
The report did not clarify whether those affected were civilians or Houthi fighters.
The airstrikes also focused on various other sites, including weapons depots at the Al-Hafa military camp in Mount Nuqum located in eastern Sanaa, along with two military sites in northeastern Sanaa, reported local residents.
The sound of fighter jets flying at high speed was audible throughout the capital both before and after the airstrikes.
Emergency vehicles were seen navigating through the streets of Sanaa, rushing to the attacked locations as the Houthi-controlled police cordoned off the affected areas.
In addition, US fighter jets conducted 13 airstrikes on the Houthi-controlled Hodeidah Airport and the naval base in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, western Yemen, as reported by Houthi television and local residents.
The remaining four airstrikes targeted Houthi positions in the Sirwah district, west of Yemen's central province of Marib. Another four airstrikes were directed at a Houthi military site in the Harf Sufian district of the northern province of Amran, the television reported.
This series of airstrikes occurred just two days after US attacks on the Ras Isa fuel port in the western province of Hodeidah, which resulted in at least 80 fatalities and 150 injuries, according to local health officials.
