Sanaa, April 7 (NationPress) The US military executed six airstrikes in the northern regions of Yemen, specifically in Saada and Hajjah, during the early hours of Monday, as reported by the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV, with no casualties reported at this time.
The airstrikes focused on sites within the Safra district of Saada and the Abs district of Hajjah, occurring just hours after a series of extensive airstrikes targeted both the western and eastern sectors of the capital city, Sanaa.
Regarding the airstrikes in eastern Sanaa that struck a residence in the Shu'ub neighborhood on Sunday night, the Houthi-run Health Ministry provided an updated report early Monday indicating that the number of injured persons has risen to 25, including 11 women and children.
Many of the injured are in critical condition, raising concerns that the current death toll of four could increase, according to al-Masirah TV.
Local residents noted that the struck home belonged to a local sheikh and his family. Among the deceased, all four were members of the sheikh's family, while several of the injured were neighbors whose homes were also damaged in the airstrikes, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
In the western part of Sanaa, the strikes targeted a mountain in the Bani Matar district, with no casualties reported.
Tensions between the Houthis and the US military have intensified since the US resumed airstrikes on March 15, authorizing what was described as a 'decisive and powerful military action' against Houthi forces.
Earlier on April 7, at least one individual was reported dead and four others injured due to US airstrikes that struck a solar energy facility and a residence in the northern city of Saada.
Medical personnel classified the casualty numbers as preliminary, stating that civil defense teams were on-site to extinguish fires and search for victims in the Hafsin area of western Saada city, which serves as the capital of the Saada province.
On the preceding Saturday, the Houthi group refuted US assertions that an American airstrike had targeted a gathering of its military leaders in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.
A statement from the Houthis, conveyed via al-Masirah TV, classified the event referenced in US claims as a social gathering for the Eid holiday, noting that such gatherings are a customary practice in Yemen during holiday celebrations.
