Moscow, Feb 19 (NationPress) Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he received information just an hour prior regarding the crossing of Russian troops into Ukraine from the Kursk region, as reported by the TASS news agency on Wednesday.
Putin stated, "The latest update I received just an hour ago indicates that this evening, members of the 810th brigade have crossed the border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, entering enemy territory," while addressing the media during a visit to a drone manufacturing facility in St. Petersburg.
The Russian military has been actively pushing back against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region following a surprise cross-border operation that occurred in August 2024.
According to reports, "The 810th Separate Guards Orders of Zhukov and Ushakov Marine Brigade has engaged in some of the most challenging sectors of the frontline during the special military operation. This brigade played a significant role in the liberation of Mariupol, countering the Ukrainian offensive in the Zaporizhzhya region, and operated in the island zone of the Dnieper River within the Kherson region.
As the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an offensive in the Kursk region, units from the brigade were deployed to the border, where they continue to fulfill their combat duties," according to the state-owned Russian news outlet.
