Riyadh, Dec 4 (NationPress) Saudi Arabia has unveiled five new environmental initiatives aimed at enhancing biodiversity across the kingdom, according to reports from local media.

The initiatives include an investment of $60 million to strengthen afforestation efforts, as reported by Xinhua, citing the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The objectives of these initiatives encompass the planting of millions of trees and mangroves, the distribution of 300 million seeds, the restoration of degraded lands, the reduction of air pollution, and the enhancement of the nation's biodiversity.

This announcement was made on the inaugural day of the fourth edition of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, which serves as a vital platform for promoting Saudi Arabia's ambition to foster a greener future by decreasing emissions, combating desertification, and preserving natural ecosystems.
