Small Aircraft Collides with California Structure, Resulting in Two Fatalities

Los Angeles, Jan 3 (NationPress) A devastating plane crash struck Fullerton, California, as a single-engine aircraft collided with a commercial structure near Fullerton Municipal Airport, situated about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The tragic event resulted in two fatalities and injured 18 others, according to local authorities.
The Fullerton Police Department confirmed the deaths in a statement on X, previously known as Twitter, noting that 10 individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals while eight others received treatment at the scene. It remains unclear whether the deceased were on the plane or inside the building.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon and involved a Van's RV-10, a four-seat single-engine aircraft, as per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The agency has initiated an investigation into the event, but the reason for the crash is yet to be determined.
Witnesses described the impact as chaotic. "All we heard was a loud noise, boom, and that was it. Then we started running out," recounted Jerome Cruz, an employee present in the building during the incident, in an interview with CBS News.
Television footage revealed the aftermath, showcasing a large hole in the building's roof with smoke billowing into the sky. Emergency responders quickly arrived to manage the fire and assist those injured.
This incident marks the second aviation accident near Fullerton Airport in recent months, following a November crash that resulted in injuries to two individuals. The occurrence has raised concerns about safety measures in the area as officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this tragedy.
