South Korea: Prosecutors Summon Counterintelligence Chief for Inquiry Regarding Failed Martial Law Attempt

Seoul, Dec 10 (NationPress) On Tuesday, prosecutors summoned the chief of the military's counterintelligence command in South Korea to interrogate him regarding his involvement in the failed martial law declaration from the previous week, officials reported.
The specialized investigation team addressing the martial law incident brought Yeo In-hyung, the head of the Defense Counterintelligence Command (DCC), to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office for questioning, as reported by Yonhap news agency.
Yeo is under suspicion for deploying troops into the National Assembly to detain prominent opposition party lawmakers and into the National Election Commission, following President Yoon Suk Yeol's abrupt martial law announcement last Tuesday evening.
Last week, Yeo was suspended from his duties.
