South Korean Prime Minister Urges Unified Efforts for National Stability Amid Political Crisis

Seoul, Dec 10 (NationPress) South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo made an appeal to political figures and civil society to collaborate in stabilizing state affairs and uniting the nation to tackle the political unrest sparked by President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed martial law declaration.

Han expressed this sentiment during the initial Cabinet meeting following Yoon's announcement of martial law last Tuesday, which was rescinded merely hours later, leaving the nation in shock and raising uncertainty about his political future, as reported by Yonhap news agency.

"The government will commit all its resources to ensure the swift stabilization of state affairs, strictly adhering to the will of the people," Han stated.

He noted that the Cabinet would strive to maintain the government's stable operation, urging public officials to carry out their responsibilities with an exceptional sense of determination.

Yoon is facing increasing demands for his resignation and has been subjected to a travel ban as investigations into charges of treason and other allegations related to his martial law imposition have commenced.
