Washington, Jan 4 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump stated that the apprehension of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro should act as a caution to his opponents, emphasizing that the United States would not stand for any threats to its security or sovereignty.

“This highly successful operation should send a clear message to anyone who might jeopardize American sovereignty or compromise American lives, ” Trump remarked.

He reiterated that the US embargo on Venezuelan oil remains in place and confirmed that American forces are prepared to intervene again if required. “The United States retains all military options,” he asserted.

Trump accused Maduro of facilitating drug trafficking and deploying violent gangs into the United States, stating that the prison gang Tren de Aragua has been terrorizing American communities under Venezuelan leadership.

“They were dispatched by Maduro to instill fear in our populace,” Trump declared, insisting that such threats will no longer be tolerated.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth remarked that the operation exemplifies American determination. “Our adversaries are hereby warned,” he stated. “America can project its will anywhere, anytime.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned that Maduro has been indicted since 2020 and is not acknowledged as Venezuela's legitimate president by the United States, the European Union, or numerous global governments.

“He is a fugitive from American justice,” Rubio asserted, noting that Maduro had disregarded multiple chances to avert conflict.

Trump also directed remarks towards regional leaders, reiterating his critique of Colombian President Gustavo Petro. “He has cocaine mills,” Trump stated, pointing out that drugs are being exported into the United States.

When questioned about Cuba, Trump referred to it as “a failing nation,” while Rubio expressed that Cuban officials should be wary. “If I were in the government in Havana, I’d be concerned,” Rubio noted.

Trump was also queried about Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I am not pleased with Putin,” he stated. “He’s responsible for too many casualties,” alluding to the conflict in Ukraine.

He affirmed that the United States will persist in supporting NATO while striving to conclude the conflict. “I want to cease the loss of lives,” Trump stated, citing alarming monthly casualty counts.

The implications of the Venezuela operation were made clear. “Do not engage in games,” Rubio emphasized earlier, a sentiment echoed by Trump who warned that those who threaten the United States will face repercussions.
