Jerusalem, Feb 10 (NationPress) Discussions are underway in Israel regarding US President Donald Trump's revolutionary and creative plan for the Gaza Strip, one that Trump is deeply committed to executing, asserted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu stated that Trump's proposal presents numerous opportunities for Israel during a cabinet meeting following his return from Washington, as per a release from his office.

Netanyahu mentioned, “For a full year, we have been told that the ‘day after’ in Gaza must involve the PLO (the Palestine Liberation Organization), the Palestinian Authority ... President Trump has introduced a wholly different vision, one that significantly benefits the State of Israel.”

As stated, Netanyahu and Trump have reached an agreement on fulfilling all of Israel's military objectives, which include the annihilation of Hamas, freeing all Israeli captives, ensuring Gaza does not remain a threat to Israel, and facilitating the return of displaced Israeli citizens, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Netanyahu further added that another military objective for Israel is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

During a joint press conference in Washington with Netanyahu on Tuesday, Trump mentioned the US's intention to “assume control of the Gaza Strip,” relocate Palestinians to neighboring nations, and revitalize the coastal territory.

On Thursday, Netanyahu proposed in an interview with Israel's Channel 14 that “the Saudis can establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia; they have ample land available.”

Both Trump's and Netanyahu's comments have ignited widespread regional and international backlash, with various nations expressing their opposition to the idea of displacing Palestinians from their homeland and reaffirming their support for a two-state solution.
