London, April 26 (NationPress) UK Conservative Party leader and Member of Parliament, Bob Blackman, on Saturday expressed unwavering support for India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the battle against Islamist terrorist organizations following the shocking terror attack in Pahalgam earlier this week. He emphasized that the terrorist camps in Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) must be dismantled and that the terror threat to India needs to be eradicated once and for all.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Blackman endorsed PM Modi's statement, asserting that the terrorists who deliberately targeted Hindus and non-Muslims must be pursued relentlessly, alongside their supporters.
"I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families, victims, and their loved ones. This was a cowardly act, intentionally aimed at Hindus and non-Muslims. We are also aware that a Christian man was brutally killed. This attack was not a random incident; it was a calculated assault against Hindu individuals. We must ensure this does not continue. Many Muslims in India are now protesting against this threat posed by Pakistan and its terrorist organizations," stated the British MP from Harrow.
The brutal incident on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of 26 innocent tourists and left several others critically injured in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, where four heavily armed terrorists, two of whom were from Pakistan, emerged from dense forests and opened fire indiscriminately on tourists. This attack has been labeled one of the most horrific in the region in recent times.
"The unfortunate truth is that the global community sympathizes with India in light of this terrorist act. It is essential for the Indian government and Army to take decisive action, and for governments supporting the free world to back India in all necessary measures to eliminate this terrorism threat. Therefore, we must stand resolutely with India and the Indian Army," Blackman remarked.
The UK Parliamentarian pointed out that the four terrorists involved were equipped with advanced weaponry, likely supplied by entities such as the Pakistani army or other actors.
"These four individuals were armed with sophisticated weapons, which must have been provided by forces such as the Pakistani army or other similar actors. Every government worldwide must unite with India to eradicate this terrorism. Furthermore, Pakistan has a responsibility; the terrorist camps along the Line of Control must be dismantled, and the threat of terrorism to India must be eliminated. If not, India must take action against them," he asserted.
Blackman, a Padma Shri awardee, previously urged the UK Government to fully support India in capturing the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack and bringing them to justice.
Showing solidarity with India, he also participated in a commemorative ceremony organized by the Indian High Commission in London on Thursday to honor the victims of the recent attack.
