New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) During her visit to India for the Raisina Dialogue, US Intelligence Chief Tulsi Gabbard extensively addressed the ongoing political challenges in Bangladesh. She expressed that the United States is significantly alarmed by the ongoing persecution of religious minorities in the nation, including Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians.
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, the Director of National Intelligence criticized the deteriorating circumstances in Bangladesh and emphasized the Trump administration's unwavering commitment to combat extremist forces and 'Islamist terrorism'.
According to her, the Trump administration is steadfast in its goal to defeat the ideology that underpins 'Islamist terrorism' on a global scale.
Tulsi Gabbard further stated, "The longstanding persecution, killings, and mistreatment of religious minorities like Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians have been a significant concern for the US government and President Trump and his administration."
She revealed that discussions have already commenced with the interim government in Bangladesh, led by Mohammad Younus.
Moreover, she elaborated on the sinister agendas of extremist factions and terrorists aiming to establish an 'Islamic Caliphate' in various regions, including Bangladesh, describing it as a 'global pattern' and detailing how the Trump administration is prioritizing its strategies to address this threat.
Speaking with NDTV, she remarked, "The risk posed by Islamist terrorists and the collective efforts of various terror groups are rooted in the same ideology and objective — which is to rule or govern through an Islamic Caliphate."
"This endangers individuals of any other faith that they do not deem acceptable, and they resort to terror and violent means to achieve their goals," she continued.
The US President has made it clear about his stance against the designs of 'radical Islamist terrorism'.
"President Trump is resolute in identifying the ideology that drives Islamist terrorism and is committed to defeating this ideology and their capacity to inflict terror upon people," she conveyed to the prominent news network.
