The following day, on March 23, the statue intended for the upcoming temple in Paris, set for consecration in September, was also ritually honored as part of the spiritual preparations.
Crafted over nearly a year, the 108-foot statue at Akshardham is primarily composed of bronze as part of the panchdhatu mix.
This monumental creation was realized through the devoted work of artisan sadhus associated with Akshardham, nearly 50 skilled craftsmen, and many volunteers who collaborated to bring this vision to life.
Bhagwan Swaminarayan, revered in his youthful ascetic form as Neelkanth Varni, commenced his spiritual journey at the tender age of 11, having renounced his home. Over seven years, he traversed more than 12,000 kilometers across India for the betterment of humanity.
During this extensive pilgrimage, he visited numerous significant sacred sites, including the Himalayas, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Kailash-Manasarovar, Muktinath in Nepal, Kamakhya in Assam, Jagannath Puri in Odisha, Rameshwaram, Nashik, Pandharpur, and Dwarka, earning the title of Neelkanth Varni during this transformative chapter of his life.
