Ahmedabad, Dec 8 (NationPress) The much-awaited Pramukh Varni Amrut Mahotsav reached its grand finale at the renowned Sabarmati Riverfront Event Center in Ahmedabad over the weekend. This significant event paid tribute to the selfless contributions of Pramukh Swami Maharaj through a series of stunning presentations.
Gathered on the banks of the Sabarmati River, attendees celebrated the Pramukh Varni Amrut Mahotsav, marking 75 years since Shastriji Maharaj, the founder of BAPS, appointed Pramukh Swami Maharaj as President at Ambli Vali Pol.
This celebration honored a life characterized by unwavering service, humility, and compassion, transcending distinctions of caste, creed, color, status, or background.
On one side, a beautifully crafted representation of Ambli Vali Pol stood — the sacred site where Pramukh Swami Maharaj became President — while on the opposite side rose the iconic Akshardham in New Delhi, representing the global spiritual impact nurtured through his vision.
The event featured notable figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, and Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, who celebrated on stage.
The program commenced with a creative video introducing the theme of Pramukh Varni Amrut Mahotsav, followed by an artistic thematic dance performed by BAPS youths. A series of impactful videos showcased remarkable instances of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s lifelong commitment to humanity. A lyrical performance and a talk by BAPS swami Sadhu Akshatvatsaldas provided deeper insights, followed by a video highlighting BAPS’s global humanitarian efforts.
Amit Shah addressed the vast gathering, extending heartfelt tributes to Pramukh Swami Maharaj and praising his spiritual and social contributions to society.
Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel remarked, “Pramukh Swami Maharaj remained tirelessly active throughout nine decades, dedicating himself to various humanitarian services. Our culture is built on three essential pillars – the saint, the scripture, and the mandir. He fortified all three through his extraordinary efforts.”
“Gujarat has been graced with the divine presence and guidance of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Mahant Swami Maharaj, and many other great sadhus. The Pramukh Varni Amrut Mahotsav is a celebration for everyone,” he added.
BAPS spiritual leader Mahant Swami Maharaj urged all to embody the virtues of seva, humility, and faith exemplified by Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
“Every moment of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s life was devoted to serving others. At Ambli Vali Pol, he once went hungry to ensure I was fed. He firmly believed that our happiness is rooted in the happiness of others. He embodied the values of recognizing virtues in all, forgiving faults, and inspiring everyone to improve. Free from ego and steadfast in his faith, he cared for all, and everyone felt, ‘He is mine.’ That is why he will always be remembered. If we seek progress, we must rectify our own faults and forgive those of others; in doing so, the Pramukh Varni Amrut Mahotsav will truly be fulfilled,” he shared with the swamis and attendees.
The celebration concluded with a spectacular fireworks display over the iconic Atal Bridge on the Sabarmati River. Under the inspiration of Mahant Swami Maharaj, planning for this event took over three months, involving the efforts of 7,000 volunteers across 20 departments.
More than 50,000 devotees from various parts of the city gathered at the venue, along with over 1,000 devotees and dignitaries from India and abroad.
