Ahmedabad, Dec 7 (NationPress) A magnificent celebration took place in Ahmedabad for the Pramukh Varni Amrut Mahotsav, commemorating 75 glorious years since Pramukh Swami Maharaj became the spiritual leader of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. The festivities unfolded along the scenic Sabarmati riverfront and were graced by prominent figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

During his address, Amit Shah emphasized that the life of Pramukh Swami Maharaj serves as a beacon of inspiration, guiding individuals toward a life of purpose and meaning.

The riverfront illuminated with 75 unique boat displays symbolizing the diverse qualities of Pramukh Swami, representing values that illuminate pathways to a fulfilling life.

Home Minister Shah remarked that Pramukh Swami played a pivotal role in spreading spirituality and the essence of Vaishnav philosophy, effectively embodying these ideals in his daily actions.

He stated, "By merging devotion with service, he exemplified the Vedic principle of recognizing divinity in every person, all without the need for preaching."

Amit Shah further noted that through his compassion and quiet deeds, Pramukh Swami not only fortified the Swaminarayan tradition but also reinforced the foundations of Sanatan Dharma. At a time when public faith in spiritual leaders was waning, Pramukh Swami and countless monks rekindled that trust through their exemplary conduct.

He referred to the Sabarmati riverbank as a testament to the sacrifices of saints, recalling the historic satyagraha led by Mahatma Gandhi and Pramukh Swami's acceptance of spiritual leadership in Amlivadi Pol of Ahmedabad.

Shah expressed optimism that this celebration would establish the location as a significant global landmark. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised the unwavering commitment of the BAPS volunteers, stating that their dedication mirrors the teachings imparted by Pramukh Swami Maharaj and senior monks.

“The thousands present here contribute not only their time but also their resources. Their belief that ‘what happens is done by God’ stems from years of association with saints,” he remarked, adding that authentic Satsang imparts the wisdom to embrace life's essence and maintain equanimity amidst success and failure.

BJP state president and MLA Jagdish Vishwakarma lauded Pramukh Swami Maharaj as a "reservoir of virtues," noting that his life was a testament to the welfare of others.

“Merely recalling his name brings tranquility to the heart,” he shared.

BAPS spiritual leader Mahant Swami Maharaj offered his blessings, reminiscing about Pramukh Swami's enduring humility and dedication despite holding the highest position within the organization.

He recounted his youthful memories, emphasizing Pramukh Swami's discipline, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his vows. The celebration featured cultural performances by the youth and was attended by senior BAPS saints and thousands of devotees, creating an atmosphere brimming with devotion, reflection, and community spirit along the Sabarmati riverfront.
