New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Prayagraj on Monday to partake in the Maha Kumbh festivities. He performed a sacred dip at Triveni Sangam, surrounded by numerous Hindu saints and seers, while offering his prayers to the divine.

Prior to his holy dip, the Home Minister enjoyed a boat ride to Arali ghat, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CMs KP Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.

The vibrant scenes from Maha Kumbh showcased Amit Shah warmly greeting and waving at the gathering as he made his way to the Ganga ghat.

Before departing for Prayagraj, the Home Minister expressed on X, “Mahakumbh is a remarkable emblem of the unbroken flow of Sanatan culture.”

He continued, “Kumbh embodies our timeless philosophy of existence rooted in harmony. Today, I am keen to immerse myself in the confluence and seek the blessings of the saints during this grand festival of unity and integrity in the holy city of Prayagraj,” he remarked.

This day-long visit to the sacred city also includes planned discussions with various Hindu saints and seers.

As per a statement from the Mahakumbh Media Centre, the Home Minister will visit Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and Abhayvat following his holy bath.

He is also anticipated to meet the Maharaj and other saints of Juna Akhara and share a meal with them.

His itinerary consists of visits to Guru Sharananand Ji's Ashram, where he will engage with Guru Sharananand Ji and Govind Giri Ji Maharaj, concluding his visit with a meeting with the Shankaracharyas from Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka.

Amit Shah’s sacred dip at Sangam follows the recent visit of the entire UP cabinet, led by CM Yogi Adityanath, who also took a holy bath at the Sangam.

The Maha Kumbh is witnessing an influx of devotees and pilgrims during this two-month-long festival.

On Makar Sankranti, alone, over 3.5 crore devotees, including seers and saints, bathed in the Ganga. Notably, for the first time, the Shankaracharya of all four Peethas attended the Maha Kumbh, and CM Yogi met with them.
