New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Maha Kumbh celebrations in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh witnessed a significant event on Wednesday as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with his complete cabinet, participated in a sacred ritual by taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, a revered practice thought to cleanse one of all sins.
Accompanying him were Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, alongside all 54 ministers, both cabinet and state.
The Yogi Cabinet used a motorboat to reach the ghat, with TV crews capturing this 'historic' occasion closely.
During their journey to the Ganga ghat, CM Yogi was seen feeding migratory birds.
Prior to the sacred dip, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet convened under the leadership of the Chief Minister at the Triveni complex in Prayagraj, where they made crucial decisions aimed at improving the infrastructure of the pilgrimage city.
The Chief Minister’s office announced on social media, 'Significant decisions have been made in the meeting for the state’s development and public welfare.'
The initial plan was to hold the cabinet meeting at the Mela Authority Auditorium, but concerns regarding VIP security affecting the movement of pilgrims led to the change in location.
Post-meeting, the ministers made their way to the Sangam via motorboats. The Chief Minister and his cabinet members performed worship rituals and immersed themselves in the holy waters of the Sangam.
This marks the second instance since Kumbh 2019 that a notable meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet occurred in the Sangam city. In 2019, during the Kumbh Mela, CM Yogi similarly took a ceremonial dip alongside his ministers, Akhada Parishad President Narendra Giri, and several other saints.
