Bengaluru, July 31 (NationPress) In a disturbing turn of events, a group has reportedly abducted a 12-year-old boy, murdered him, and cremated his body within the jurisdiction of the Hulimavu police station on the outskirts of Bengaluru late Thursday night.
The victim has been recognized as Nischit, who lived in the Arakere Hatiniketan Layout.
According to authorities, the abductors demanded a ransom of ₹5 lakh from Nischit’s family. However, after realizing that the police were involved, they tragically ended the boy's life and set his remains on fire.
Nischit was in seventh grade. His father works as an assistant professor at a private institution. The boy was taken on Wednesday night (July 30) while heading home from his tuition classes. His parents were threatened with ransom calls from unknown sources, instructing them not to contact law enforcement.
Despite the intimidation, the boy’s father reported the incident to the Hulimavu police and filed a complaint, pleading for the rescue of his son. The police swiftly initiated an investigation, utilizing CCTV footage to trace the kidnappers’ mobile numbers.
Under immense pressure, the family gathered the ransom and set out to meet the kidnappers, hoping for their son's safe return.
However, upon realizing that law enforcement was involved, the suspects reportedly bound the boy's limbs, murdered him, and doused his body with petrol before igniting it.
The remains were discovered in a secluded area near Kaggalipura Road. Police tracked the body while searching for the kidnappers using mobile location data. The boy is suspected to have succumbed to a brutal assault, as his body was found partially charred.
Senior law enforcement officials have rushed to the scene, and a manhunt is underway to capture the kidnappers. Electronics City DCP Narayan and Bengaluru Rural SP C.K. Baba have also visited the site to conduct inspections.
