Bengaluru, Aug 1 (NationPress) In a shocking turn of events, the BJP has criticized the Karnataka government regarding the abduction and murder of a schoolboy in Bengaluru, which occurred late Thursday night. Surprisingly, Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated on Friday that he had no knowledge about the tragic incident.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, R. Ashoka, posed a troubling question on Friday: "Is there any incident more severe than this to highlight the total breakdown of law and order in the state?"
A chilling incident has left the community reeling — a 13-year-old boy, who was returning home from his tuition in Shantiniketan Layout, Arakere, Bengaluru, was kidnapped, a ransom was demanded, and ultimately, his throat was cut and his remains were incinerated using petrol.
"Home Minister G. Parameshwara — how many more innocent lives need to be sacrificed before your department takes action? What further tragedies must we endure?" Ashoka pressed.
When approached about the incident, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara reiterated in Bengaluru that he was unaware of the situation. "When did this incident take place? I haven’t received any information about it yet," he declared.
In a disturbing revelation, a group has allegedly kidnapped 13-year-old A. Nischal, murdered him, and burned his body within the limits of the Hulimavu police station late Thursday night.
Investigations indicated that the suspects, who worked as drivers, were familiar with the victim's family. Exploiting their knowledge of the family's background, they targeted the boy for ransom. After abducting him, they sent a WhatsApp message demanding Rs 5 lakh. Tragically, they later slit the boy’s throat and incinerated his body to destroy evidence.
Nischal was a student at Christ School and regularly attended tuition classes from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on 80 Feet Road in Arakere.
On July 30, when he did not return home late, his parents contacted the tuition teacher, who confirmed that Nischal had left at the usual time.
During their search, they discovered the boy’s bicycle near Arakere Family Park. His father, J.C. Achyut, subsequently filed a missing complaint at the Hulimavu police station. On the evening of July 31, the family received a WhatsApp message indicating Nischal had been kidnapped and that a ransom of Rs 5 lakh was being demanded for his release.
Taking the matter seriously, the police formed four teams to pursue the kidnappers. Around 5 P.M., they were alerted to a half-burnt body found in a forested area of Bilwaradahalli, within the Bannerghatta police station limits. The police swiftly responded, and the boy's family confirmed his identity.
Early on Friday, Bengaluru police managed to crack the case and apprehended the two suspects after engaging in an encounter that resulted in them being shot in the legs.
The official statement from Bengaluru Police identified the suspects as Gurumurthy, 27, from Weavers Colony on Bannerghatta Road, and Gopi alias Gopala, 27, from Bannerghatta.
Gurumurthy sustained gunshot wounds in both legs, while Gopi was injured in one leg. Both are currently receiving treatment at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru.
Additionally, Police Inspector Kumaraswamy B.G. and PSI Arvind Kumar, who were injured during the confrontation after being attacked by the suspects, are also receiving medical attention at Victoria Hospital.
