Bengaluru, July 7 (NationPress) A group of eleven individuals allegedly kidnapped and viciously assaulted a man, labeled as a jilted lover, for supposedly sending obscene and threatening messages to his former girlfriend, a minor, within the jurisdiction of the Soladevanahalli police station on the outskirts of Bengaluru, as stated by officials on Monday.
Authorities have apprehended seven suspects in connection with this incident and have also taken the young woman, who was previously in a relationship with the assaulted man, into custody, sending her to a remand home. A search is underway for the remaining three suspects.
A video depicting the assault has since gone viral on various social media platforms. This incident has drawn parallels to the notorious murder of Renukaswamy by Kannada actor Darshan, linked to similar obscene messages sent to his partner, Pavithra Gowda.
According to law enforcement, the man, Kushal, had sent inappropriate and threatening texts to his ex-girlfriend, exerting pressure for her to meet him. The pair had been in a relationship for two years.
It is reported that the girl shared these messages with her peers, who collectively devised a plan to attack him. She enticed Kushal to Bagalagunte, where he was subsequently kidnapped.
They transported him to a secluded area in Alur and subjected him to a brutal beating with sticks and iron rods. The footage reveals the gang kicking him, forcing him to strip, and mercilessly assaulting him.
The video also captures two to three men restraining Kushal while others continue the onslaught. The group allegedly warned him that if he reported the incident, the videos would be made public.
Additionally, the footage shows the minor girl, also his ex-girlfriend, directing the group, scolding Kushal while pointing at him during the attack.
Following the emergence of the video, Kushal filed a complaint with law enforcement. In a prompt response, police arrested all individuals involved in the incident.
In light of these developments, Home Minister G. Parameshwara confirmed on Monday that the suspects have been taken into custody.
