Bhopal, Feb 6 (NationPress) A twin-seater Indian Air Force (IAF) Mirage 2000 aircraft met with an accident in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri while conducting a routine training sortie on Thursday.
Fortunately, the two pilots aboard the Mirage 2000 fighter jet remained safe, and they were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for a medical evaluation.
The IAF confirmed via a post on the social media platform X: "A Mirage 2000 aircraft of the IAF crashed near Shivpuri (Gwalior) during a routine training sortie due to a system malfunction. Both pilots successfully ejected from the aircraft."
An investigation has been initiated by the IAF to determine the cause of the incident.
A team of IAF officials has arrived at the scene, as reported by the Shivpuri district police.
This incident transpired at Karaira village in Shivpuri district, approximately 120 km from Gwalior, where the IAF training center is situated.
