Chandigarh, Jan 31 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday criticized the remarks made by Union Minister and BJP member Ravneet Singh Bittu concerning the raid on the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Delhi.

AAP MP and spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang condemned the situation, asserting that the BJP is consistently attempting to tarnish the image of Punjabis as part of a broader scheme. Kang noted that since the announcement of elections in Delhi, the BJP has been focusing its attacks on the Punjabi community.

“They have issues with vehicles from Punjab at times, and at other times, they target Sikhs and Punjab residents. The rhetoric from BJP officials clearly indicates their animosity towards Punjabis,” Kang remarked in a statement. He further accused the Election Commission of being ineffective, alleging that it has become a puppet for the BJP.

“The Election Commission conducts unfounded raids at the residence of the Chief Minister of Punjab while ignoring reports of Parvesh Verma distributing money, shoes, and clothing in the New Delhi Assembly constituency. The Commission should have acted against him, yet it did nothing,” he stated. He added that the BJP is intentionally trying to defame the Chief Minister of Punjab, and the people of Punjab will never forgive the BJP for this.

“The residents of Delhi will also reject such petty politics. On February 5, they will respond to the BJP appropriately,” Kang emphasized.

It is worth mentioning that BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu claimed, “Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal supposedly managed to transfer cash out of Kapurthala House yesterday while Election Commission teams were held up at the entrance for over two hours. The money was allegedly moved through the back door. This cash, reportedly taken from Punjab, is intended for use in the Delhi Assembly elections by AAP.”

Just a day prior, Punjab AAP leaders responded to the raid, labeling it an act driven by vengeance.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann posted on X: “Today, a team from the Election Commission along with Delhi Police arrived at my residence Kapoorthala House in Delhi to execute a raid. The BJP is openly distributing money in Delhi, while both the Delhi Police and the Election Commission are turning a blind eye. No action is being taken against them.”

He remarked that, in essence, the Delhi Police and the Election Commission are discrediting Punjabis at the behest of the BJP. “This is utterly condemnable,” stated the Punjab Chief Minister.

Punjab AAP President Aman Arora mentioned in a statement that the BJP is fearful of defeat and is attempting to disrupt the electoral environment. He pointed out that BJP leader Verma continues to distribute money, yet the Election Commission has remained inactive.

He claimed that these actions are being performed at the direction of the BJP, further highlighting the biased behavior of the Election Commission. “The Commission is overtly backing the BJP and fails to take notice of any wrongdoing by BJP leaders, despite ongoing reports about their distribution of money,” he asserted.
