Bhubaneswar, April 8 (NationPress) Karan Adani, the Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), revealed on Wednesday the company's plan to invest Rs 33,081 crore in Odisha through three significant projects. These include a data centre in Bhubaneswar, a thermal power plant, and a cement manufacturing facility near Cuttack, collectively expected to generate approximately 9,700 jobs.

The initial project involves a data centre in Bhubaneswar with a budget of Rs 800 crore, aimed at bolstering the digital economy and creating about 200 jobs.

The second project is a substantial thermal power plant located near Cuttack, which will require an investment of Rs 30,181 crore. This facility is anticipated to produce around 7,000 jobs while enhancing power supply for both industries and households.

The third initiative is a cement production unit near Cuttack, with an investment of Rs 2,100 crore, projected to create roughly 2,500 jobs and aid in infrastructure development.

“Together, these initiatives are a testament to our conviction. A conviction that Odisha is not merely on the brink of a transformation—it is already experiencing it. The forthcoming chapter of India's industrial evolution will be scripted here, in this State, by its people,” Karan Adani emphasized.

While inaugurating these industrial ventures, he underscored the company’s expanding footprint in Odisha and reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the region's progress.

Karan Adani articulated that the Adani Group is not just making investments; it is also contributing to Odisha’s emergence as a major economic hub.

“Odisha is no longer a state in transition but one that has a clear vision and growth trajectory,” Karan Adani asserted.

“What lends credibility to Odisha's vision is the tangible foundation that exists. The resources are present. The people are here. Governance reforms are underway,” he noted.

What remains is the commitment to build—decisively, at scale, and with a long-term perspective, he concluded.

Karan Adani stated that Odisha is poised to play a crucial role in shaping India’s economic future, continuing to evolve as a significant industrial and technological hub.

He expressed that the Adani Group envisions itself as a steadfast partner in this journey.
