Guwahati, Feb 25 (NationPress) Assam is embarking on a journey towards greatness, supported by several transformative initiatives, and we are privileged to be part of this endeavor, stated Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, during an event on Tuesday.

While speaking at the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025’ in Guwahati, Gautam Adani praised Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the recent initiatives introduced by the state government, highlighting that his infrastructure vision is equally motivating.

“When I observe the transformative projects you've championed, from the ambitious vision of semiconductor manufacturing to strategic connections across the Brahmaputra River, I perceive lifelines of progress, bridges to prosperity, and pathways to a brighter future,” the billionaire industrialist expressed to the audience.

“It is this vision of progress that we are excited to be part of. Hence, it is with immense pride that I declare today the Adani Group’s commitment to invest Rs 50,000 crore in Assam. Our investments will encompass airports, aerocities, city gas distribution, transmission, cement, and road projects,” the Adani Group Chairman added.

Gautam Adani emphasized Assam’s evolution under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Just as the mighty Brahmaputra River alters the landscape of this state to carve its own path, I must say that it is our Prime Minister who has transformed the landscape of possibilities for Assam,” stated the Adani Group Chairman.

The Adani Group’s investment aligns with Assam’s increasing importance as a vital driver of India’s ‘Act East Policy’, enhancing connectivity and trade with Southeast Asian countries.

The Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment Summit 2025 in Guwahati, which gathered global investors, policymakers, and industry leaders, serves as a platform dedicated to unlocking the state’s economic potential through strategic investments in infrastructure, energy, and technology.

Gautam Adani remarked that the Prime Minister’s initiative to organize the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit two decades ago sparked a national movement, motivating every state to harness the power of investment-driven economic transformation.

At the ‘Advantage Assam 2025’ summit, the Prime Minister unveiled the ‘Bamboo Orchids’ design of the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport.

Inspired by Assam's natural beauty, the design symbolizes biodiversity, strength, and sustainability.

Currently under construction, the NITB will accommodate 13.1 million passengers per annum (MPPA), making it the first airport terminal of its kind in Northeast India. It is anticipated to be operational in the last quarter of 2025.
