Bhopal, May 24 (NationPress) Buoyed by the triumph of the recent agricultural summit in Mandsaur district, the Madhya Pradesh government is set to host an agri summit this Sunday in Narsinghpur. The event will highlight state-of-the-art farming technology, innovative agricultural methods, high-yield seed varieties, and insights into modern food processing potentials.
“This summit will bring together industry professionals and farmers on a shared platform to enhance agricultural productivity and maximize farmers' earnings through value-added production techniques,” stated Kailash Vijayvargiya, the Urban Development Minister.
In alignment with its vision for 2025, which is earmarked as the year for industry and employment, the state government is organizing these “Krishi Udyog Samagam” events.
The summit will be inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, with the presence of Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, and other ministers. The Krishi Udyog Samagam 2025 aims to nurture the growth of agriculture-based industries in Madhya Pradesh, draw investments into food processing, and enhance market opportunities for farmers.
“This platform will enable dialogues between industrialists, farmer producer organizations, and policymakers, fostering collaboration and progressive policy development. The event will also mark the laying of foundation stones for new industrial units, the inauguration of several projects, and the distribution of land allotment documents to industrialists,” the minister added.
The state government is committed to increasing farmers' incomes and ensuring that agriculture becomes a lucrative endeavor, he emphasized.
The Krishi Udyog Sammelan will provide insights into advanced farming techniques, food processing, horticulture, and animal husbandry.
Madhya Pradesh has been acknowledged by Niti Aayog as India’s fastest-growing state, progressing at a remarkable pace.
The summit aspires to empower farmers with knowledge about innovative farming practices, new high-yield seed varieties, and strategies to attain self-sufficiency in electricity production.
Plans are also in motion to establish district-wise horticultural crop mapping and create horticulture zones on vacant government lands, including university campuses.
Officials propose developing nurseries through a Public-Private Partnership model, in addition to organizing district-level workshops and fairs that connect farmers and entrepreneurs with industry best practices.
Recognizing the significance of agricultural innovation, the state is contemplating hosting a horticulture and food processing summit, similar to the Global Investors Summit held earlier this year for the manufacturing sector. Following these agricultural gatherings, a specialized horticulture conclave focused on medicinal agriculture is slated for Neemuch and Mandsaur.
