Srinagar, April 16 (NationPress) The J&K Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has criticized the National Conference (NC) on Wednesday after former RAW Chief A.S. Dulat revealed in his latest book ‘The Chief Minister and the Spy’ that the NC has mastered the art of deception, employing tactics from backchannel agreements to fabricated opposition.

AIP's Chief Spokesperson, Inam Un Nabi, stated that the National Conference has betrayed the citizens of J&K.

“The residents of Jammu and Kashmir were betrayed not by outsiders, but by those who professed to be their protectors. Farooq Abdullah’s clandestine support for the abrogation of Article 370 - as disclosed in AS Dulat’s book - validates what the populace has long suspected: the National Conference was never a victim but a covert accomplice,” said Inam Un Nabi.

Inam Un Nabi drew attention to the glaring “hypocrisy” and “self-serving” nature of the NC leadership while commending the unwavering position of imprisoned MP Engineer Rashid.

“While the Abdullahs were secretly celebrating in the BJP’s power corridors, Engineer Rashid was enduring imprisonment for confronting authority and refusing to compromise his integrity for political gain. It is a sad irony that traitors walk free while the true hero of the people is incarcerated,” he remarked.

Inam Un Nabi further criticized the “legacy of deception” that NC has cultivated.

“From backchannel dealings to faux opposition, NC has truly refined the art of deception. They present themselves as the champions of Kashmir publicly, while secretly negotiating their political survival at the expense of our shared honor,” he declared.

The AIP described Dulat’s revelations not merely as a political scandal but as a total ethical failure of NC politics in Jammu and Kashmir.

“This situation transcends a simple political scandal. It represents a moral failure. Engineer Rashid is imprisoned today for his loyalty to the people, for upholding Article 370 while others sought favors. The day is approaching when truth will prevail, and Kashmir will identify its genuine leaders,” the AIP asserted.
