Ajit Pawar Avoids Reshimbaug Visit as Majority of MahaYuti Legislators Honor RSS Founder

Nagpur, Dec 19 (NationPress) NCP leader and Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, along with the majority of party legislators, with the exception of Raju Karemore from the Gondiya district, missed the visit to the Hedgewar Smriti Mandir (HSM) on Thursday.

The HSM serves as a memorial dedicated to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder KB Hedgewar and is located in the city of Nagpur.

In contrast, numerous legislators from the MahaYuti, affiliated with the BJP and Shiv Sena, attended the event led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, as they participated in the ‘Baudhik’ ceremony.

This occasion is a traditional annual observance that has been upheld since the BJP-led government assumed power in 2014.

The visit aligned with the current Winter Session of the state legislature.

The MahaYuti legislators honored both the RSS founder and former RSS chief MS Golwalkar, who succeeded Hedgewar.

Interestingly, Ajit Pawar had also chosen not to visit HSM last year, maintaining that while the NCP has allied with the BJP-led MahaYuti, it does not align with the Hindutva agenda.

He has reiterated the NCP's commitment to the ideologies of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Mahatma Phule, Chhatrapati Shahu, and BR Ambedkar.

During the recently held state Assembly elections, Ajit Pawar criticized the BJP’s ‘Batenge toh Katenge’ slogan.

Interestingly, Karemore was the only NCP legislator to make it to HSM. He stated, “I have not been instructed by the party to refrain from visiting the Smriti Mandir. I came to pay my respects. I will talk to Ajit Pawar, and he will likely come here as well. Visiting this place rejuvenates me.”

Among those present were Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, ministers Chandrakant Patil, Dada Bhuse, Sanjay Rathod, Nitesh Rane, Jayakumar Rawal, Shambhuraj Desai, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Uday Samant, and BJP legislators Praveen Darekar, Ram Shinde, Chitra Wagh, among others.
