Kuala Lumpur, June 2 (NationPress) An all-party Indian Parliamentary delegation, headed by Janata Dal-United MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, paid respects to the remarkable freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the revered Hindu saint and philosopher Swami Vivekananda in Malaysia's capital.

In a solemn act, the delegation honored Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a monumental figure in India's struggle for independence, at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre (NSCBICC) located in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. This tribute is a testament to the delegation's recognition of India's rich historical legacy in the fight against oppression and injustice. The delegation also had the privilege of engaging with S.P. Narayanasamy, a veteran of the Indian National Army (INA) and member of the INA's Balak Sena. The team expressed profound appreciation for his invaluable contributions,” mentioned the Indian Embassy in Malaysia in a statement on X.

Furthermore, the delegation visited the Ramakrishna Mission in Kuala Lumpur, where they laid floral tributes at Swami Vivekananda’s statue, as noted by the Indian Embassy.

The embassy's press release stated: “An All-Party Parliamentary Delegation from India, led by MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, arrived in Kuala Lumpur on the evening of May 31, 2025, as part of the Indian government's regional outreach efforts. This visit highlights India’s steadfast and uncompromising approach of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms, and sheds light on the strategic importance of Operation Sindoor.

The delegation includes: Sanjay Kumar Jha from Janata Dal-United, Aparajita Sarangi from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Abhishek Banerjee from the Trinamool Congress, Brij Lal from the BJP, John Brittas from the Communist Party of India-Maoist, Pradan Baruah from the BJP, Hemang Joshi from the BJP, Salman Khurshid, Former Minister of External Affairs and Congress MP, and Mohan Kumar, former Ambassador of India to France.

The delegation's engagements began with a comprehensive briefing by the Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, B.N. Reddy, who emphasized the significance of strong India-Malaysia relations and conveyed Malaysia-specific messaging to assert India’s commitment to counter-terrorism through Operation Sindoor,” as stated by the Indian Embassy.

In their interaction with members of the Indian diaspora in Kuala Lumpur, the delegation affirmed India’s unwavering stance against cross-border terrorism, especially following the recent heinous terror attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. They discussed Operation Sindoor as a demonstration of India's right to respond, prevent, and deter future terrorist activities. Diaspora members, including representatives from the Malaysian Indian Muslim community, firmly denounced terrorism. An appeal was made to amplify the message of unity and zero tolerance across various platforms and communities,” the press statement elaborated.

The delegation also engaged with leading Malaysian media outlets and social media influencers, focusing on the purpose of their visit, India’s new normal, and strategies to uphold zero tolerance against terrorism. They paid heartfelt homage to the Malaysian national who lost her life in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, underlining that terrorism is a global threat that endangers all humanity,” the statement noted.

Additionally, the All-Party delegation participated in a meaningful discussion with a 15-member delegation from the National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, who are currently on a Foreign Country Study Tour to Malaysia from June 2 to 6, 2025.

India stands firm in its message to the global community: terrorism in any form, from any source, will not be tolerated. The visit of the All-Party Parliamentary Delegation to Malaysia is part of a sustained diplomatic and public outreach initiative to convey this message clearly.

The presence of both the All-Party Parliamentary Delegation and the NDC delegation in Malaysia, alongside senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces, provides a unique opportunity over the next three days to share the context and background of Operation Sindoor and India’s zero tolerance against terrorism,” stated the Indian Embassy.

The All-Party Parliamentary Delegation, led by MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, also visited the Ramakrishna Mission in Petaling Jaya. The delegates paid floral tributes to the statue of Swami Vivekananda and explored the Panchavati Prayer Hall and the Nivedita House. The 12-foot bronze statue, unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, symbolizes the resilience and moral strength inherent in India’s struggle against terrorism.

The delegation, led by MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, also visited the Torana Gate at Little India in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

The Torana Gate, a gift from the people of India to the Malaysian populace, was inaugurated during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Malaysia in 2015, standing as a symbol of unity and a testament to the enduring friendship between India and Malaysia.

Additionally, the delegation interacted with members of the Malaysia-India Heritage Society (MIHS), who presented the delegates with a compilation of proceedings from the International Conference titled -- Malaysia and India: Shared Heritage and Cultural Links.
