Amaravati, March 10 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, emphasized on Tuesday that the capital city, Amaravati, must highlight the rich heritage of Telugu culture to the global audience.

During the 59th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), approval was granted for the establishment of a Telugu Cultural Centre, with an estimated investment of Rs 119 crore.

The discussions encompassed land allocations for various institutions within the capital and plans for essential infrastructure in the Secretariat and HOD buildings.

Naidu also proposed that a fitting name be chosen for the upcoming Telugu Cultural Centre in Amaravati. He instructed officials to develop a substantial convention centre in the city to facilitate government functions and significant events.

Moreover, the Chief Minister stated that the tourism initiative at Neerukonda, located within the capital area, should be regarded as a flagship project. Initiatives should be undertaken to enhance tourism across a sprawling 167 acres of land.

Plans must be crafted to entice visitors while preserving and showcasing Telugu heritage. The design for the Neerukonda project is expected to transform it into an attractive and dynamic destination, he remarked.

As per an official statement, Naidu pointed out that sports will emerge as a key revenue-generating sector in the future. He underscored the necessity for the state to capitalize on these emerging opportunities, particularly with the master plan for the proposed Sports City in Amaravati designed with this vision in mind.

He stressed the importance of self-financed projects being introduced into Amaravati. Several major firms have expressed their willingness to invest in the capital, and continuous communication with these companies is crucial, according to the CM.

Notably, companies like DLF are eager not to miss the chance to invest in Amaravati, showcasing the government's credibility. The appeal of the Amaravati brand should continue to expand.

In attendance at the CRDA meeting were Ministers P Narayana and Payyavula Keshav, Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, along with officials from Urban Development, CRDA, and the Amaravati Development Corporation.

The CRDA approved the allocation of 80 cents of land for the construction of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office, along with 3 acres of land to the Tulluru Educational Society as compensation, and 5 acres to APSIRD under the Panchayati Raj Department.

Administrative approval was also granted for Rs 2,316 crore designated for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works in the construction of the AP Secretariat and HOD towers.
