Will the Bhadarvi Poonam Fair in Ambaji Dazzle This Year?

Ahmedabad, Aug 31 (NationPress) The Ambaji Temple, located in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat, is preparing to welcome its annual Bhadarvi Poonam fair from September 1 to 7, drawing an expected crowd of lakhs of devotees to the shrine. To facilitate a smooth experience, the district administration has rolled out extensive preparations aimed at ensuring safety, security, and convenience for all pilgrims.

To handle the anticipated influx, 29 committees have been established to manage arrangements such as drinking water, electricity, parking, prasad distribution, and overall security. The primary goal is to offer uninterrupted facilities to devotees throughout the fair.

This year, technology will enhance the experience for attendees. An ‘E-Mandir’ WhatsApp chatbot will provide real-time information about aarti timings, prasad centers, parking details, and other temple-related updates. Additionally, devotees can enjoy live darshan of Mataji’s Akhand Jyot through the trust’s official YouTube channel.

Given the massive turnout, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (ST) is launching 5,500 extra buses during the fair period.

These buses will operate on routes connecting Ambaji with major destinations such as Gabbar, Danta, Palanpur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat, making travel more convenient for devotees from all over the state.

As a captivating cultural highlight, a spectacular drone light show featuring 400 drones is scheduled for the evening of September 3–4 at 8:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The sky will come alive with stunning formations of Ambe Maa, 'Jai Mataji' inscriptions, and the Trishul, promising to leave the audience spellbound.

The Ambaji Temple is one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India, dedicated to Goddess Amba, a manifestation of Shakti.

The temple's significance stems from the belief that the heart of Goddess Sati fell at this location, making it a pivotal center of divine feminine energy.

Uniquely, the deity is worshipped in the form of a sacred yantra (Shree Visa Yantra) instead of a conventional idol, symbolizing the eternal and formless power of the goddess.

In addition to its spiritual importance, the temple holds cultural, historical, and economic significance—rooted in local folk traditions, referenced in ancient scriptures, and continuing to impact local economies through pilgrimage tourism.
