On August 8, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat's Industry Minister and Banaskantha District In-charge Minister Balvantsinh Rajput officially opened a sophisticated centralized data center at the Ambaji Temple. This initiative is designed to enhance the transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of services available to pilgrims, such as prasad distribution, donations, and Bhadarvi Poonam fair registrations.
During the event, Minister Rajput emphasized that the new server-based data center will facilitate a variety of online services, including prasad booking, donation tracking, Suvarna Shikhar (gold dome) contributions, saree centers, religious merchandise counters, and registration processes for pilgrim groups, service camps, and vehicle passes for the annual Bhadarvi Poonam Mahamela—all just a click away.
He further stated that this state-of-the-art facility aligns with the demands of the contemporary digital age and is part of the state government's 'Good Governance' initiative.
The new system aims to enhance the management of donor services, reporting, supervision, audits, and data analysis through advanced software and tools. Rajput highlighted that the Ambaji Temple experiences the sale of approximately 1.20 crore prasad offerings each year and receives around Rs 50 crore in donations, both through online and offline channels.
This upgrade is expected to significantly boost transparency and efficiency in handling these substantial volumes.
At the inauguration, Banaskantha Collector and Chairman of the Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust, Mihir Patel, alongside Additional Collector and Temple Administrator Kaushik Modi, provided insights to the minister regarding the temple trust's various operations and activities.
The Ambaji Temple, situated in Gujarat's Banaskantha district near the Rajasthan border, is one of India's most esteemed Shakti Peethas and carries significant religious and cultural importance.
Dedicated to Arasuri Amba, a manifestation of Goddess Durga, the temple draws millions of devotees each year, particularly during the grand Bhadarvi Poonam fair, when pilgrims from all over the country undertake foot pilgrimages in search of blessings.
Apart from its spiritual significance, Ambaji stands as a symbol of faith, tradition, and communal unity, while also playing a crucial role in local tourism and the economy of North Gujarat.
